Nationwide Letters
An Open Letter To The President About Healthcare

August 21, 2009

by Robert Metcalf
AHRC News
Dear Mr. President,My name is Robert Metcalf and I live in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania. On November 4th, 2008 the citizens of this country elected you as our 44th President, a truly remarkable event for a whole host of reasons. During the campaign you spoke with great eloquence about a great many issues, however two stood proud when compared with the rest. They would be ending the war in Iraq, and retooling the American healthcare system. This letter has to do with the latter....The issues at this point are your leadership and the fulfillment of a vision possessed by a majority of the citizens of this country, a vision and hope that was first and foremost in their minds when they elected you. You have arrived at what is truly a watershed moment in the history of the United States. In the past generation, since the election of Ronald Reagan, Washington has been transformed into a place that is virtually unresponsive to average person. Lobbyists have stolen our representation with what amounts to little more than outright bribery...

Wow! I just came accross your site AHRC News Services while googling some research on "foreclosure crisis, war on the middle class." This is one of the best sites . Your writers break things down in understandable language, and "connect the dots" unlike much of mainstream media, and other online resources. I am going to take the time to study much of what is put forth here, and cast in my own two cents at some point.

Many homeowner associations get out of control and don't attempt to work with residents before filing cases

Lake Granbury Harbor Owners Association does not do that since I became President

July 2, 2009

by Michael Hodges
AHRC News
A plea for help
I am disappointed that you only print one side of a story. In Steve Miller's situation, no one from your organization ever contacted our homeowners association. Lake Granbury Harbor almost never takes anyone to court for anything. Mr. Miller had a number of people attempt to help him including me. All of us were treated horribly by him. I was the one who got the board to let him bring in his used, but very nice, storage shed. It was also myself who Mr. Miller cussed like a sailor while trying to get his situation straightened out. Mr. Miller's case was filed before I became President. AHRC Response:....

Recently a British free lance journalist on assignment to write an article about homeowner associations for a financial publication called AHRC for information. We provided him with information and then sent him a list of articles to read before calling us back again for additional information.

We are publishing the list of articles we sent him. We think this list will give other writers ...

LIVING IN A HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION EQUALS LAWSUITS.

I would never, ever, again live in a homeowners association

AHRC News
I would never, ever, again live in a homeowners association. As I have said repeatedly to my weary friends and relatives; I don't care if the monthly fee is fifty cents.

Living in a HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION = LAWSUITS.

I read this site and it's newsletter all the time, and I am rather surprised that most of the horror stories come out of Texas and California. I live in Pennsylvania and the ...

Solution to HOA mess?

Get rid of CAI managers and lawyers

July 28, 2003

To: Letters to the Editor - HOAhorrors@bankrate.com

I enjoyed reading your letter which appeared via AHRC.

As a member of AHRC, and as an active participant in our family's own HOA Horror Story, i'd like to offer that in addition to simply repeating the horrors, that we begin an active discussion of how and why the problems are as bad as they are, and what can be done to attempt to begin addressing the issues.

To begin with, kicking the unlicensed, uneducated and unregulated management companies to the curb permanently (which are completely unnecessary profit-driven enterprises creating havoc and "horrors"). then, with the other foot, swiftly give a strong kick to the attorney's.

The homeowner association does not want homeowners telling the truth about what is going on in the HOA

When I posted a for sale by owner sign with flyers disclosing that the HOA made our 30 year voluntary HOA mandatory, the manager demanded we remove the signs

June 5, 2009

by Mary Lanham
AHRC News
I live in a community which has had a voluntary HOA for the past 30 years. They recently came up with a new set of covenants that make HOA membership mandatory for any new owners. The new covenants now also state that the homeowners realize that the interpretations of the rules will change as board members change. We have asked for answers to questions and get none. Out of frustration I posted a for sale by owner sign with flyers telling about our concerns. The HOA did not like this at all. The property manager demanded that we remove the sign immediately. We refused. Waiting to hear their next move. I suspect your situation is similar to ours. They don't want us telling the truth about what is going on.

Searching your directory is very cumbersome! Have you considered instead of numbered pages, using the alphabet? Have you considered putting the different categories seperately? Also, what do you list association managers under? Thank you very much for the vital service you provide.
