OBAMA'S HEALTHCARE - NEITHER AFFORDABLE NOR DESIRABLE [An Editorial]
As with "affordable" housing in HOAs, you could lose your home with "affordable" healthcare
Aug 21, 2009
by Ann Roth
People are beginning to wonder, just what connection do Homeowners Associations have to Obama's Healthcare plan? This only covers one segment of the divisive debate, and some might say this is really reaching, but read on and decide for yourself if Obama's Healthcare pitch isn't a familiar monster. The last time Big Brother Government attempted to try to change the way things are traditionally done in America, and affecting a massive portion of the United States economic system, was with HOUSING. A cadre of legislators and their lobbyist lawyers proclaimed that it was a fundamental "right" for Americans to be able to own a home they can afford. And guess where this 'affordable housing' concept was very popular? Chicago. In what has been referred to as a "legalized housing scam" sanctioned by the legislators, the lawyers crafted and concocted the concept of mandatory shared housing (that would conveniently benefit their brotherhood), made it into Law, and cleverly herded human beings into Condominiums, Cooperatives, and Master Planned Communes by deeming them to be "affordable" housing for the masses - aka Homeowners Associations (HOAs).
An Open Letter To The President About Healthcare [A Letter]
Aug 21, 2009
by Robert Metcalf
Dear Mr. President,My name is Robert Metcalf and I live in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania. On November 4th, 2008 the citizens of this country elected you as our 44th President, a truly remarkable event for a whole host of reasons. During the campaign you spoke with great eloquence about a great many issues, however two stood proud when compared with the rest. They would be ending the war in Iraq, and retooling the American healthcare system. This letter has to do with the latter....The issues at this point are your leadership and the fulfillment of a vision possessed by a majority of the citizens of this country, a vision and hope that was first and foremost in their minds when they elected you. You have arrived at what is truly a watershed moment in the history of the United States. In the past generation, since the election of Ronald Reagan, Washington has been transformed into a place that is virtually unresponsive to average person. Lobbyists have stolen our representation with what amounts to little more than outright bribery...
What does Illinois State laws require me to do on my homeowner association assessments if the mortgage company forecloses on my condo? [An Article]
Credit card debts, delinquent student loans and economic constraints are forcing me into foreclosure
Aug 21, 2009
by sourma
I am currently having to let my condo unit that I share with my father go into foreclosure due to economic constraints, credit card debt and delinquent student loans. We have no choice. But my question is in regards to the homeowner association assessment fees that we have been paying since we allowed the condo to go into foreclosure. What does Illinois State laws require me to do on my homeowner association assessments if the mortgage company forecloses on our condo? Since I am planning on moving out by September 1st and my father is planning to move in with family are we still obligated to paying the HOA assessment fees? Lets say we stop paying them, move out and move ahead with the foreclosure could they cause legal action against any delinquencies and if so am I obligated to attend court if I don't want the property?
